Mr. Confused Nurse

My younger brother Michael graduated last year with a bachelor's degree in nursing...a Cum Laude at that(watta proud sistah am i :) )...he had been an honor student since grade school but it still amazes me and the rest of our siblings when he has a new achievement...after taking the board exam...controversies pertaining the "leakage" went off the press like a hot potato...it became a headline for newspapers for a couple of months...it was even featured as a topic in Y Speak...i saw how frustrated this young nurses of the outcome of their board exam...some of his friends even applied in a call center instead of submitting a resume to hospitals, they just can't wait for the result of the investigation...their "license" had not been released so who could blame them...

After months of submitting resumes to local hospitals and waiting for their call for an interview or exam...on March he'd be starting his career as a Nurse in Medical City...but confusion takes off to my 22 yr old bro...other local hospitals had been calling him to have an examination or interview..heck...why only now...let me share to you our convo last night.




dumating ako sa bahay kagabi...pagod...gutom...sinalubong ako ni Michael and the convo goes like this..

Michael: Tumawag na naman ang UST Hospital..pinage-exam ako, sabi ni Ate wag na daw, sabi naman ni Mama magexam lang daw ako.

Bhitzs: eh di magexam ka lang...kainis naman kasi yan ang tagal tumawag sayo, saan ka ba unang nagsubmit ng resume?sa UST or sa Medical City? ang lapit lang sana ng UST pwede ka lang maglakad papunta dun.

Michael: sa UST..Yun sa St. Luke's pa nga sana eh

Bhitzs: oo nga isa pa yun..dami kasi kaartehan...baka naman lahat ng nagsubmit sa kanila ng resume nahire na rin ng Medical City..ikaw kung gusto mo pa rin magexam sa UST magexam ka lang


Michael: pero mas maganda naman daw sa Medical City

Bhitzs: eh di ikaw na bahala kung saan ang maganda



i left him with that statement...i just thought it was my indirect way of saying..."its your life...decide for yourself...you're responsible for your own future"


i dont know if it did help him to think about it...knowing my bro...he's a man of few words yet full of wisdom
